Height: 6'1" Build: "Twunk" Bearing: Upright. Impassive. Squared shoulders, straight spine. Carries tension in his jaw. Instead of reading as stuffy, he reads almost as inanimate. Think of mannequins and marionettes, but with the ability to explode into interpersonal dramatics or sick kickflips with seemingly no warning. It's not clear if he ever relaxes or if this is what he thinks relaxed is.

Hair Color: Weirdly white-blond. Eye Color: Orange. Distinguishing Features: Other than the massive, almost ever-present puppet, or his weird-ass body- and facial- language? Large nose, thick eyebrows, high cheekbones. Triangle shades. Collects scars carelessly.

Supernova Appearance: this one actually spans multiple columns so you can describe your outfit in agonizing detail Transformation Sequence: There is none. Dirk's joykiller vibe sucks all the whimsy and magic out of doing something magical, and instead it's exactly like a Homestuck outfit swap: blink and you'll miss it, he's just suddenly wearing hot pink little German Boy shorts, frilly sleeves, and a crown.

Dirk Strider is the nepo baby (or possibly nepo sibling) of famous artist, filmmaker, and overall personality Dave Strider. Dave Strider prominently disappeared 15 years ago, and in a DB Cooper "is he alive or is he not" kind of way. "Dave Strider sightings" of varying levels of plausibility and/or absurdity are a staple of tabloid rags, and conspiracy theorists could make careers off him. The man himself is a SBAHJ-flavoured Lady Gaga meets David Lynch meets Werner Herzog meets [????] kind of character. Dirk doesn't live in his shadow so much as he basks in it.

Following Dave's disappearance, Dirk himself has been an occasional presence at film festivals and anniversaries of works starting from a relatively young age, brought by ultra rich eccentric old money friend of the family Jake Harley. Dirk's obvious maladaption and weirdness is generally attributed, explained, and/or excused by his relation to Dave.

Appearance: After what one hopes is a suitably cool activation--or at least some kind of warning to his teammates--Dirk goes limp. Maybe it's a slump, maybe he crumples all the way to the ground. Once he does, the light catches his strings--magical strings extended upwards, connecting the various parts of Dirk's body to an unseen device. Did they just appear, or were they there all along? Some questions were not meant to be answered. But then Dirk straightens. He moves differently. He's faster, crazy flexible, and indifferent to gravity.
Effect: Dirk becomes both puppet and puppeteer. Manipulates his own body via strings he can pull. This is great for moving fast or in physically implausible ways! It is also great for taking hits or ignoring that! It is not great for self-preservation!
